The power of mastery

I have greatly enjoyed what I have learned so far in this course. I began by doing to readings on how we are in control of what we do and that it is our responsibility to become something. We cannot blame anyone else for our failure, life isn't fair and it is ultimately up to us to make a better world. The best people, the most powerful experiences usually involve experiences where one or more refining fires have purified and helped perfect the individuals that were involved. Business in general when combined with virtue induces greater opportunities of progression and improves the lives of others. There are very few forces that hold more power than this, without good business interaction it seems as though much of what we enjoy today would be impossible. When different people choose to survive by specializing in one thing, and then joining together in trade, this allows for great prosperity and economic security. This is a situation that manifests when individuals begin to focus on their best traits and take the path of mastery.

The key role to becoming a great entrepreneur is self mastery, I am loving the required reading book, Mastery by George Leonard. I have learned so much about myself and the world. I have recognized my own weaknesses, strengths, and greatest assets as a future entrepreneur. For one I found that I am a Dabbler, someone who loves learning new skills, but quickly tires of them as progress becomes more difficult to see. I have seen that many times in my life and this book has allowed me to look past myself, to realize that if I can just stick with something long enough, I will gradually begin to see the workings of mastery over time. I feel that discovering this about myself was super important for me in every aspect of my life, I am grateful for this class and I am excited for what we will get to learn here.

My future goals for this class are to develop helpful new habits and a new way of thinking and seeing the world. My view and understanding have already changed a little and I know that if I can master these principles, it will bless me and those I care about in every area of our lives.

This course so far has been great to me, I have learned so much this past week about the importance of habits and how to become a successful person. I believe that by being ethical in all of my decisions and perusing the path of mastery in all areas of my life by applying good habits that I can be successful and bring much joy to my family as well as the world. Entrepreneurship is not a easy course and is not for everyone, but I have a dream and believe that this course has been invaluable to me personally. The Monster We Grow

I learned about the importance of having faith in oneself as an entrepreneur and understanding that risk taking is necessary but also wisdom and patience is important when seeking the prize. Corey Kesler, a great entrepreneur and mentor for me, shared that his biggest regrets involved not charging enough for what he did and the amount of time having a business takes from family life. The complexity and diverse forms of operation within a business is fragile at best, and must be considered with great care. The balance between family and entrepreneurial endeavors is precarious and is not a game to be taken lightly. It is imperative that creative thinking and reason be entwined together to create feasible innovation that increase the marginal revenue of production. By innovative thinking and utilizing capital in efficient ways we make production less expensive dramatically increasing revenue and increasing profits of the company. We can do it, but not at the expense of Family

I enjoyed and was slightly surprised by the talk that essentially told us that to be a Entrepreneur is not for everyone and that start-ups are not recommended for couples. I believe that there was a lot of sense in doing what they all recommended especially the parts about never compromising God, family, and spouse relations. Businesses require a great amount of time and effort so it can easily encroach on family time and church, but when properly regulated, businesses can bring great happiness and financial blessings to not only the family but also to many other Children of our Heavenly Father. I also enjoyed the video of Wences when he declared that being a Entrepreneur isn't what we do, it is what we are! Such a mindset is sure to bring about success and happiness in all righteous endeavors.
