I enjoyed and was slightly surprised by the talk that essentially told us that to be a Entrepreneur is not for everyone and that start-ups are not recommended for couples. I believe that there was a lot of sense in doing what they all recommended especially the parts about never compromising God, family, and spouse relations. Businesses require a great amount of time and effort so it can easily encroach on family time and church, but when properly regulated, businesses can bring great happiness and financial blessings to not only the family but also to many other Children of our Heavenly Father. I also enjoyed the video of Wences when he declared that being a Entrepreneur isn't what we do, it is what we are! Such a mindset is sure to bring about success and happiness in all righteous endeavors. This week I had the opportunity to learn about never giving up. I learned that God loves us and that if we trust in him, have faith in him, and then endure everything that comes on our Hero’s Journey, everything will eventually turn out ok. I also learned interestingly enough that it is a bad idea to be an entrepreneur starting up a company if money is the main objective. Our objective is not that of the world, our objective is to help others through serving them with our specialized services. To use our God given talents to bless others, but to get those God given talents we must search for what brings us flow, what comes naturally, what is our purpose in life? By answering these questions through talking with others and meditation with God it is possible to do more than we ever previously imagined. I learned so much this week about myself and what I need to do to be a successful Entrepreneur. I love this Gospel and the light it brings into my life and the world itself. Truly the prophecy spoken by the prophets that this earth will be filled with knowledge is being completed. I believe that the most important principles I learned are Confidence through spiritual guidance, the worth of goals in our everyday lives, and that obedience to our Covenants brings success in our business endeavors. I enjoyed reading about the different subjects and especially about Magdalena the entrepreneur. It seems to me as though the idea of risk taking is essential in Business but that there are definite constraints that must be put into place as well called ethics. Frank Levinson put it perfectly when he stated that there is no point cutting corners and ignoring ethics because it will always turn out bad in the end and someday it will always come out no matter how hard you try to hide it.
